Internet extender question

Can I run Ethernet directly into extender in another room and have it work? My extender randomly stops working and I have to unplug and plug back in. I have a cable running from my main router to the area I need the extender, would that create a continuous connection?

if you run a wire from your router to the room in question, just plug it into a AP. no need to dick around with creating an extension.
