I'm a patient man, but I'm about to lose my shite with this nest

It's been 2 months dealing with this issue. Our upstairs thermostat keeps reverting back to an old schedule. I have recreated the schedule over 20 times now. I guess it thinks it's being 'smart' but it's not catching on to the fact that I'm changing the temperature 10 times a day. What the hell do I do short of slicing it off the wall with a machete?

I don't have an answer for you, but changing temperature 10 times a day? Why so many changes? In my house the temperature gets changed when we wake up and again when we go to bed.

Sounds Like he is having to change it so many times because it's reverting to a n oldschedule that he didn't set.

You're changing the schedule too much. Settle down. I have 3 of them. Once you let them get their shite straight, they mellow out.
Call their customer support line. It's easily one of the greatest tech depts I've ever had to call. They're wonderful.

Had this problem with my nests. Randomly, it would just put the heater on to 85 degrees when it apparently felt like it.
We called their technical support and figured out that the contractors had hooked everything up and were testing out the hvac doing a burnout for the heater and max cold for the ac.
Some of these settings were remembered by the nest and confused it. We did a factory reset and all is well now.
Try that.

I have to change the schedule because I can't wake up in the middle of the night to change the temperature for the people sleeping upstairs.
And yes my office is upstairs so when it reverts to 75 degrees I have to turn it down. It also has like 7 points everyday that it's set to 75. So it's like it would change at those times but they're all 75. I'm going to have to try a factory reset I guess.

Home depot will take it back without a receipt. Put the store credit towards an ecobee3

This is a no-brainer since home depot will give you store credit without a receipt.

What you should do (and what I did) was to turn off the learning schedule. I was in the same boat and wanted to burn that MF to the ground. I hate the Nest.

To be fair it was the a-hole running the company who refused to listen to users and improve the ui

sure i do. i'm a cheap jew.
but for a nest user it would be a huge upgrade to go with the ecobee3..which wasn't available when i got my honeywells (not that i would have bought them since i got the honeywells for $70)

CAD - can you touch a bit more on the UI? I kind of like it personally - easy to read, fairly user friendly, etc, it's the "learning" part that sucks donkey balls.
If it's 90F out Thurs and I set it to 70F inside the house, but next Thurs it's 50F outside, it's virtually impossible without some sort of sensor to know what it should be set at so it defaults to last weeks temp. They really should smarten it up - maybe partner with weather.com or something.

Turn off the learning mode and put a manual schedule

Lol. My Honeywell's are great and 'preciate the heads up on them. It was a no brainer at a 2 for 1 steal.
