I want Facebook to quit going through my phone. Help me out.

It's gotten pretty obvious that facebook is all up in my shite.
I put a new contact in my phone for work - someone I have no previous affiliation with whatsoever - and the next day facebook is suggesting I befriend them.
How can I stop this? If the only answer is deleting facebook from my phone - then ok. But I would think there's another way.

Uninstall the app and use Facebook on your phone's web browser rather than the Facebook app. In order to install the app you give Facebook permission to do exactly what you're seeing.

This. The app can even read your text messages.

There is no granularity to the permissions that you grant an app, unfortunately
