How does the Surface Pro 3 work as a laptop

By laptop I mean laying on the couch watching TV with the device on your lap and using the keyboard
Just seems that the keyboard is a little flimsy and therefore typing would be a pain
I'm interested in one but may just pay extra for high end SSD 2 in 1 like a HP spectre or Lenovo Yoga

I've used my regularly in airports and its very comfortable. Your best option is to go to a store that sells them and try it out.

I have not fully committed to the SP3 yet. I like it, though.
But for use as an everyday, laying around laptop, I'm glad I'm not reliant on it. For example, right now I use it sometimes as a laying around tablet, sometimes as a "my MBP is charging across the room" laptop, and more frequently as a travel laptop when I'm not planning to do a ton of business. It's also an annotating machine.

Checked one out today at the mall
I'm impressed but they are not cheap. The 2 in 1s like the HP Spectre that was next to it was cheaper
Ideally I would get both a laptop and Surface but that's expensive and will have to wait

quote:This. It is highly overpriced for what it is. I like the HP option, and specs are pretty good on the HP

I use my SP3 100% of the time now. I have a great desktop and a really good laptop -- I've used neither for over 6 months.
My kids used to ask to borrow it -- they now know that the SP3 is off limits.

sounds like your issue is more pricing. check out the surface 3

That thing has some great specs, I wonder how they are? I'm considering an SP4 or maybe Spectre in the next year or so. Anyone on here have the Spectre?

It has a stand, I put said stand on my legs or stomach while laying down. It works just fine.

Has anyone had a problem with the apps not working properly on their SP3?
i.e. If I try to open the Wikipedia app, it immediately closes the program out but, still runs in Task Manager. Also, if you scroll really fast through an app, it will sometimes go into this blue screen of death mode. Only goes into the blue screen mode in the app. Has anyone experienced these problems?

If you have big hands, it takes some getting used to but it's fine. We've been buying them for our outside reps at work and no complaints.
