I live in Walker and I hooked up a mohu leaf 50 to my tv in my bedroom, the flat part is in my window. After moving it around and channel searching it only pulls pbs, nbc, and fox. I can't get abc or cbs. When I put in my address to see if I can pick those channels every antenna coverage map says I can. It states cbs is 22.1 miles away, abc is 23.3 miles away, nbc is 26.7 miles, and fox is 26.7 miles. Any suggestions on how to pick up the other stations?

i had one and got rid of it. I didn't realize i had to get a digital tuner box till after i bought an outdoor antenna.
Go to Walmart and buy you a cheap digital tuner box.

connect coaxial cable from the Mohu Leaf to the back of the box. Run HDMI cable from box to tv.

So take out the amplifier that was supplied? When I buy the digital box what does it do? Will one of these boxes fix my problem?

Does your leaf look like this?

If so the usb plugin really isn't much of an amplifier but does power the leaf.
You will still need that plugged in.

The tuner box does not amplify anything. It simply gives you the ability to access the HD sub channels you are looking for.
Without the tuner box, accessing the .1 and .2 channels ETC. is not possible.

BTW- I lve in Watson and experienced the same issue that you're having.

Yes that is exactly what I have. So basically take what I have now and take the cable that says to tv and hook it to the digital converter. Once I do that use a hdmi cable to go from the converter to the tv and do a channel search to find the other channels?

yes. And I got the Emersonbox and it came with a roll of coax and an HDMI cable. I didn't need the coax. If after doing this you are still having issues then you might need to go with an outdoor antenna. Either way, you'll need a digital converter box.

I called mohu just a minute ago and they said basically the leaf 50 is not picking up those channels because its only designed to have a 20 mile digital vhf range and those channels are using those where the ones I'm picking up are using the UHF rang. They suggested using a 25 decimal amplifier and see if works, because the one it comes with is only a 15 decimal one. I'm thinking I may just take it back and get the Sky 60 instead because the VHF range on it is 45 miles.

That is from Time Warner/Spectrum but it is relevant OTA via an external antenna as well.

If you know the model of your TV you can easily Google and tell if it has a tuner. 7 years old may be hit or miss....but if I had to bet on it I'd bet it does have one. I wouldn't bet much though.

I had the MOHU 50 as well. I didn't like it. I ended up getting a cheapo outdoor and a box and have no problems getting over 35 channels.
I'd ditch that Leaf.

here's the cheap arse antenna i got and mounted on a pole

I'll tell you right now, no indoor antenna is going to work for you out in Walker, unless by indoor you mean in your attic.

I live less than 10 miles from the towers and I have a Mohu50 that only works when put in my kitchen window, which faces towards the towers, and has no trees or obstructions in plain view. If I put it anywhere else in the house I only get nbc and fox, sometimes.
My buddy lives even closer and he only catches a few stations with his mohu50. He's got it behind the tv facing the opposite direction of the towers, not that that should matter since it's omnidirectional, but he doesn't get abc or cbs.

Get a directional one and put it in the attic if you want reliable cable tv.

Return the Leaf and get an outdoor antenna and stick it in the attic. Those paper thin ones will only pick up so much being 6' off the ground.

Thats what I'm planning on doing now. What about the Mohu sky 60 and put it into my attic?

it'll probably do, but you're probably better off with a directional antenna.

This is what's in my attic.

I have the Winegard HD7694P High Definition VHF/UHF Antenna mounted in my attic and I have zero issues picking up locals. Im in Downtown Prairieville.
I could also pick up a handful or NOLA stations if I turn the antenna the other way.

Well I just picked up the sky 60 and I plan on taking the directv dish down and putting the antenna in its place and using the co axial cable that directv had.
