Help moving iphone 6 sync to new computer

I got my wife a new pc and made the stupid assumption that I could log in with her info on to itunes with the new computer, plug in the phone, and sync away. Wrong. It goes on to tell me it will erase the phone and then only sync with what is in the new computer.
So do I need to...
1) sync with old computer
2) move everything from old computer to new
3) sync with new??
And when it says erase, does it mean just apps/music? Or is it going to wipe the whole thing?

Does it give you an option to backup first?
