Has LG addressed the cracking screen over the flash and lenses on the V20?

Been having it for about a month and noticed I have a cracked screen over the lenses and flash.
ETA: I left the protective film over the glass as was recommended, it's in a case plus I have never ever dropped it.

Look on the lg v20 subreddit, it's completely true and it just happened to me. I've never dropped the phone and I've been extra careful with it because I had known this was a possibility.
I called LG and they want me to send it in and pay for the repairs. Verizon hangs up on me after 30 seconds of hold time.

Just keep in mind that there are tens of thousands of units in use with a tiny fraction having this issue.

My wife has my old one. She hasn't complained about anything and I know that she'd let me know if it had a problem.
