Has anyone dealt with Verizon on a return of a Samsung Note 7?

My daughter got a Samsung Note 7 from Verizon but bought it at Sam's. I brought the recall to her attention last week (thanks to a post on here) and she's been getting absolutely nowhere with Samsung, Sam's or Verizon; each one kicks the can to the other players in this game.
You would think Samsung would be doing everything known to man to get these phones off the streets because a perception that Samsung is making decisions based upon economics and not safety of the public will most certainly cause damages to skyrocket when the class action suit is filed...which will most certainly happen.
Anyway, trying to find someone who has the same fact situation and how they have dealt with this.

Same issues with me. I still have the phone. No idea what to do with it.

Best Buy signed me up for a preorder of their new shipment. They will send me an email when the phone reaches the store. Samsung was supposed to start sending new phones to stores at the beginning of the week. Since Best Buy took care of mine, I would assume that the responsibility would be on Sam's Club for your daughter.

That's what Samsung and Verizon are telling her. She has contacted Sam's Customer Service Department 3 times and is being told it's a Samsung problem.
I haven't seen anything indicating that a replacement Note 7 is anywhere near being shipped out. In fact, there's speculation that Samsung may just skip the Note 7 series in the US completely because of the bad publicity the exploding batteries has caused.

Great question. The answer is that we don't know. In the US, the new batch of unaffected Note 7s will have to clear CPSC approval. That could take months. Samsung says it will focus on getting users replacement phones first. The customer care representative I spoke with said that the new phones are ready for distribution, but are awaiting CPSC approval.

Wow, such bullshite.

If you did get it through Verizon, it's my understanding that your options are limited to returning it and being forced to either select a completely different phone or walk away from it all together.

No. You return it, pick out ANY other phone in the store, and either keep that one or come back again and return it for a Note 7 when they relaunch.

As for Sam's club - yes, you must return it to Sam's.
