Going on a a hiking trip and would like to be able to transfer files from sd micro card (4K video) to iPhone so I don't have to bring laptop. Any recommendations?

Apple sells a SD to Lightning cable adapter. Try that.

Amazon Basic might have them for cheaper.

I think you can do it on the iPhone app. Enable the wifi on the GoPro and connect to it from your phone. It also lets you use your phone as a recording monitor so you can see what you are recording.

Get the SD card reader.

The wifi transfer takes forever and will drain your batteries.

The iPhone 6/6S allows users to shoot a whole 4K video, But In fact, iPhone can't support 4K video playback, for me, i like to compress 4k to HD video for iPhone.
