I have some movies I want to show to my dad. He has no PC or internet.

Can I plug a USB Flash into the Fire TV box and watch the movies?

Don't have a laptop and a fire tv would be cheaper.

I know there is a WD Player that can play all file formats from a USB but I was hoping the Fire with Kodi would be able to do the same with more functionality.

Yes, there was a recent software update that allows this.
LINK

*only certain USB devices work though. There is a list of approved devices on Amazon.com

Sweet. Looks like flash works. Just not USB drives requiring power.

Thanks for the link.
