I'm trying to use a COUNTIFS formula to check some data.

So essentially if Column D has anything in it and Column A is blank, I need to be aware of it.

I figured a COUNTIFS would tell me how many instances this occurred so I could know to go look for them.

Of you're just trying to find those lines, it might be better to filter the data. Blanks and non-blanks are choices on the pulldown menu so you can choose blanks for A and non for D.

Yeah, just really trying to avoid any extra steps that aren't necessary. I may just add another two columns and go run isblanks in both and then write the COUNTIFS c is true, f is false. but was hoping I could write the isblanks into the COUNTIFS formula

Eta: I already have sumifs predicated on A, which is a vlookup to D, which are ticker symbols. But if a new stock appears, it won't render a value to A, which throws my report off.

Are you putting the formula on every row or attempting the summarize the data?

If you are checking to see if each row meets a criteria you should just use a IF statement with an AND clause for the logic.
