Email on IPhone crashes when I try to enter in email address

As soon as the phone starts thinking to pull the email address up it crashes. This happens in both my exchange and gmail. Anyone know what's up

what do you mean by crashes? Does it go to the home screen or do you see the spin wheel and then the home screen reloads?

It blacks out and goes to the home screen. The email crashes, not the phone

What have you tried so far to resolve it? Double clicking home and swiping it out of your recent apps should fix it.
And we are talking about the native app (not a third party mail app from the App Store) right?

have you tried a hard reset? Hold down the home and power button until it turns off and back on again.

I have tried swiping to close app as well as a hard reset.
Yes this is not an app, it is the native email for iphone
