Downloading 4K movies/shows to amazon fire tv?

I have amazon fire tv box with sd card (64gb). Is there a way to download movies to the ad card? Is there any benefit to downloading vs streaming (4K gets a little laggy while streaming sometimes)?
I just downloaded kodi and am messing around with that now. I have exodus installed if that counts for anything

4k movies to the fire tv will be very inefficient. You really would need to store them on a external hard drive to have enough space.
Instead use exodus and trakt. There are plenty of instructions out there. Just add movies to your collection. They will only be 1080p for now, but this is so much easier. You can also set up a collection for any tv shows that you watch.
