Saves me about $50/mth. I just use sling and an ota antenna. We don't watch a ton of tv though.

It's cheaper than cable, but I honestly don't use it near as much as I thought I would. Thinking about dropping the HBO subscription. I pay $45/month - $25 for base rate, $5 for sports package, and $15 for HBO. I was paying $120/month for UVerse before, fyi.

Were you paying 120 for "everything" uverse? Cable phone and Internet? Or was that just the tv price? What is your internet price now?

I was paying $145 for UVerse cable only. Now paying $50 for Sling and $15 for TiVo.

Was thinking about getting it for my kids. I usually watch Netflix and Amazon Prime. Any reviews would be helpful. TIA.

You can only use it on one device at a time. So if your kids are watching it, you can't be in the other room watching the football game.

Not great.

For people cutting the cord it is an option to get ESPN and the Watch ESPN app, but for people who like to watch lots of cable channels, it is garbage.

I think my net savings are about $65 a month out of football season and then $40 during football season.

It works for me because the last 2 years, I've only turned cable on during football games.

I get all of my TV time from Netflix, Amazon, Hulu Plus and "FINDING THINGS (Kodi)."

That was cable only. I had Uverse U300 with 3 receivers and full HD. I pay $45/month for Cox preferred Internet (I use my brother's LSU discount). So I was paying $165/month for everything. Now I pay $90/month. I can watch pretty much anything I want, but just can't record anything - which isn't a big deal since most shows are available for on demand streaming through various Roku apps.

ETA: Yes, $45 is sling only. $45 for sling + $45 for Cox Internet.

I'm stuck at the foot of a ridge directly north of Bham, antenna doesn't work.

I'm doing the 2 week trial of Sling. Here is my question.

Can I use a TV tuner card as a DVR? Bought a tower that had one in it from a thrift store. Wondering if this is an option to record stuff for my wife.
