Yeah, I know, Germans...
What are some of the better digital cameras for taking photos and videos of youth sports? A few considerations:
- They occasionally have night games and sometimes have night practices. The ability to handle that would be nice but isn't necessary
- It should be easy to transfer the photos and videos to a computer since there are a lot of games and practices, especially with all-star play extending the season
Anyone have any experience with this and have a camera they liked? TIA.

The term "digital camera" means nothing in this scenario.
Are you looking for a point and shoot? Look at the Canon G7X.
Are you looking for an SLR? The Canon EOS 70D is on point.
Are you looking for a beater that takes great video and can withstand multiple types of weather and punishment? Get a GoPro. Cheap and easy.
Good luck

Canon Rebel SL1 - World's smallest DSLR. A great entry level DSLR. Will probably do everything you are looking for at less than $500 including the included kit lens.

Thanks!! I'll check into these.
I should have specified that the person I'm buying for isn't a noob and is good with cameras, so it doesn't have to be designed for dummies.

If you're looking for close up actions shots you are going to need a fair amount of zoom. Kit lens probably won't have enough.
