I am looking for a nice little 2.1 setup for my office. Have any of you purchased anything recently that is worth recommending?

These are on sale right now for $79.99. I have the outdated version of them and they have lasted over 5 years and still sound loud and great!

You can also go the way of Creative Pebble series. The plus comes with a sub. I got the ex a Pebble pair without the sub, primarily for work, and she never complained. About the speakers, that is.

I'd like to keep it below $200. That's the hard ceiling. The soft ceiling is $150.

Sadly they don't make them anymore but I have a pair of Definitive Technology Inclines and a PSB micro sub and that setup is amazing for a PC.

Gonna put you way over if you get their sub, you can probably find a cheap one on Facebook marketplace. They look so much better sitting on a desk than the traditional PC speakers.

If you really want a sub the the Klipsch Pro Media 2 is one of the better bets. Given subs at that price point are more mid bass modules you might consider just a pair of better speakers like one of the Edifier powered near-field speakers like the Edifier R1280Ts.

The best buy sale ended, but I found them for 79.99 on Walmart.com. They came in yesterday. They sound really good and probably overkill for what I was looking for.

Maybe a little late with the recommendation, but I've been using some Logitech Z 623 speakers for several years and they're great. They're like $150. At that pricepoint, they're more than enough for me.

IMO, $150 is about as much as I'd like to spend on PC speakers. I'd spend more money on a good set of headphones. I still have a set of Sennheiser HD 600 headphones I bought almost 25 years ago. (Changed out the foam and cable, but drivers are still great.)
