COX internet speed- Laptop and iPad

Not sure what the deal is or how to check this, but my wifi on my iPad is super fast, never any issues. 25% of the time my laptop loses connections with my wifi or my speeds are so slow that it takes forever to open a webpage.
Thoughts? It's driving my bananas.

How old is your laptop? What wifi standard is your card using?

Your wifi nic on the laptop probably isn't as good as the iPad

To add another level, I have an AT&T data card that is fairly new. I use the wifi from that and my speeds are flying again on my laptop like they used to with my home wifi. Re-connect back to my wifi and slow as molasses.
