I recently decided to cut the cord and bought all the necessary equipment. Have a Clearstream 2V UHF/VHF antenna from best buy and a 3 ghz amplifier hooked to all my cable outlets in the house that are running TV. (Not the modem). The signal is great at 77% and I catch 26 channels extremely clearly. Only one problem, I live in lafayette and all the channels I catch are Baton Rouge locals. The antenna is aimed right at our broadcast towers for lafayette, in fact baton rouge broadcast towers are the opposite way. How do I get the antenna to catch katc instead of wbrz?!

What's wrong with having both? They're on different channels. Or are you saying you can't get the locals at all?

No problem with having both and happy that I catch abc, but I don't catch lafayette locals at all. So for news purposes and things such as that I have no idea what's going on except in Baton Rouge.

If you haven't already used it go to TVFOOL.COM to get compass headings for your stations. You may need a bi-directional antenna instead of the one you have. I found this guy very helpful in configuring my antenna setup. Give him a call and talk to him about your problem.

I know a guy who did this went to best buy and bought the best antenna they had. Said he spent a 100 bucks. Hooked it up and was getting almost 30 stations then raised it to about 50 ft and claims he gets 50 stations. I find this hard to believe.

Run your set's channel scan again.

Ran the scan multiple times. I catch klfy, which is a local channel here but the wife wants katc. The towers are right by each other, anyone know if KATC even broadcasts OTA anymore?

Try unplugging the amp for the Lafayette stations. If you're pointing towards their towers with a high-gain outdoor antenna AND amping the signal, you could be overloading the TV's tuner.
