My bill jumped to over $90 since my recent promotion ran out. For the $90, i am getting 75mbs and basic cable. I called this morning to get it lower and the best i could get was 25 megs for $69.99 before taxes. Is this normal/ the best i will see? Am i being delusional if i am looking for around $50? I don't have to have 75mbs or even 25 mbs realy. I can do without the tv but it saves if you bundle.

Is this a normal price range with everyone else?
Any tactics to lowering the price if i call back? Thanks

Comcast in Atlanta did something similar to me.

Check what the competitors have to offer then call Comcast and ask for a price break.

Don't be shy about mentioning competitive offers. Comcast already knows what the competition is offering. They are betting you do not know.

You will know ahead of time if they are trying to screw you.

So right now, I can get up to 20mbs down from centruy link for 29.99. I know their service is inferior to comcast. I have used in the past and speeds are not normally near what they should be. Does this change if i have my own (assuming better) modem? I have called in the past and told them that century link could give me a better deal and the guy told me to go for it because he knew it was an inferior product.... Kinda pissed me off from a customer loyalty prospective.

In my experience, the advertised price does not include everything. Such as: modem, taxes, service plan etc.
