You gave no indication about your usage.
Do you have Win 10?

Yes, I have a Win 10.
I hadn't had a chance to check. I thought there was a detailed usage on the account screen. The only thing I could find just showed the cable modem/wifi and all the usage coming from it.
I did find out that my wife downloaded like 8 movies on the first but certainly nowhere near 300 GB. We do have 3 iPhones 2 tablets a laptop and the Xbox running on wifi.

And, what really sucks is they started this a couple months after I signed their two year deal to lock in my rate. I feel like they have changed the terms of the agreement but they probably have that in the contract, since I'm sure they were aware this was coming more than two months prior.

you sure about that billy bob?
a BR 1080p RIP can run about 30-50GB x 8 = 240GB - 400GB.
i bitch about the cap all the time..you can hit it in about 2 hours if you try.

HD downloads are usually compressed to 3-6 GB though.
you think 300 GB cap is bad, i've been living with a 250 GB cap. Suddenlink. Increase my speed at no charge, leave draconian cap in place.

I wonder what they expect you to do with the 2Gig connection they were throwing in EPB's face until EPB said FU Comcast with 10Gig.

You really have to work at it to use that much in 3 days.
I don't see how she downloaded that much without DLing a whole series rip.

Any (and every) time I try to check my data usage on cox.com it says that my data usage meter is unavailable.

That's the thing I can't get over. They like to advertise their 1g/sec service, but with that you can literally go from zero to fricked in five hours flat. I don't understand how they can still legally call it a monthly service fee.

exactly. comcast data doesn't discriminiate up/down so she could download a 10GB movie and if torrent is running she could upload 15x that much in a couple hours.
you could argue she is dumb for leaving the torrent running but this is exactly what the data cap is for although comcast would never admit that.

There's some good news. Comcast doesn't charge for overages until you've blown by the 300GB cap in three separate months.

read the fine print, cowboy.
thats THREE SEPARATE OVERAGES..so you can blow through all 3 in a single month.

Comcast screws me every month on this. Between my wife and four kids we hit the data cap around the 25th of each month like clockwork.

And most of the movies she downloaded are old Audrey Hepburn movies. I haven't checked but I doubt they are 1080p.

So what exactly does this mean? I am guessing I am going to have to pay for the upgrade.
