I turned in my box as I only need my internet , but still have basic channels....since the cable is from wall straight to the tv, the resolution blows...

How can I go from coaxial to hdmi w/o a box to get those channels in hd ....?

the TV...

then you scan analog and digital...

the ones that say digital will show in a better resolution...

It connects to the TV. You got rid of the box.

There is no HDMI. You eliminated that step when you got rid of the cable box.

Yes...

The cable company would be happy to rent you one...

Those boxes take a VCR and put it on your 80inch SuperDuper HD vision Tron 3000...

You can't make COX WB into COX WB(hd)..You just have to find the equivalent digital channel...

Not convert analog to digital..

Just find the equivalent digital

they convert digital to analog for analog TVs

And all of your channels above basic cable are encrypted so you need to rent a box from the cable company to view those channels. Specifically the HD channels above local are encrypted.

Your TV can probably scan and get the local channels in HD, but that's all you're gonna get

You should get ota channels if you have an hdtv. Try the 700s

Enjoy them know. Those channels are about to become encrypted. Charter does it and Cox is about to do it as well.

Ok..got ya...cable co scrambles the signal for getting hd....now I see...thought it was in the signal freely...

Next question...any cable boxes out there that unscramble the hd signal that can be purchased?

local broadcast is shown in HD, its not encrypted

since each company usually uses their own method to encrypt, you can rent a box from that company that uses specific software to read the encryption. They don't sell boxes that are uploaded with their software to decrypt their signal.
