I have an S6. Got a little "damp" last night around the charging port. Now the damn thing wont charge. I have insurance on the device, but my question is- if I have it sent for warranty repair, will they be able to detect the water damage, or will they just fix the charging port?

Just send it in and say it won't charge.

That's what I was thinking, then I get my same old phone back- and a loaner while they fix it. Without the hassle of filing an insurance claim.

Tell them it never got wet and it must've been sweat from your pocket. Works for me

Yeah, I just went to the local retail store, and they were able to use the wireless charging mat. Still going to send in for the warranty replacement, but it seems to only have affected the port.

I think it's technically not a cellular device. A cell indicates analog signal only while "mobile" would better describe the Galaxy since it uses a digital signal. It's a mobile device. Haha
