Car stereo question

I have an 07 suburban. I had an oh dvd player installed a few years ago that crapped out on me. I want to replace the head unit with an oem stereo with dvd slot. My question is how hard would it be to purchase a tv monitor for the the rear and run the wires back to the head unit?

Headrest or ceiling? They are both not easy. I just completely rewired my sound system with a good bit of custom stuff, and I wouldn't do it. Headrest would probably be the easiest though. There is an off chance that you'll have the wiring already in there, but you'd have to check.
Another thing is that I am not sure you can watch a DVD from the main unit while moving. With an aftermarket one, you can bypass the safety and do so.
If you did the headrest one, just buy a scrap headrest and practice cutting to get it right before you do it on your actual car.

I already have the aftermarket overhead dvd player in the back. Now I just need to get the video signal from the new head unit to the new monitir I want to put in its place.
I am pretty sure i will be able to use the power and cut out I currently have for the aftermarket unit.

There will be a grey or black plug behind the aftermarket head unit that is OEM. That OEM plug goes into a harness that goes directly into the back of the aftermarket head unit. That harness will also be connected to the actual interface box, which is probably either blue or black.
Take that set of plugs and wires out and the interface box, and plug the OEM cable into the new OEM radio. Should be good after that
*Just saw you have an aftermarket monitor. I am not sure how that would work, but there are a set of RCA wires going to it. You'd probably have to get another harness that would convert the stock TV output to RCA wires. Call Crutchfield and they will get you set up for sure. They have great customer support and will even include directions
You will probably find the harness cheaper at sonic electronix though, but they are not as helpful. It is hard to beat Crutchfield in customer service
