Camera/pictures problem

We have a Nikon Coolpix camera that my wife gave me to take flood /insurance pics. 7 pictures showed up after I snapped many more than seven. I did the whole inside of the house. The camera was apparently nearly"full" when I started out and I didn't know it. The adjuster said to take a lot of pics because that's what he uses to process the claim. Is there any hope for me? Any chance I can still get the pics somehow?

Did you use an SD card? Internal memory of most cameras is minimal.

Put that camera back in the box that it came in and ship it back to whoever she bought it from.
