I'm sure this has been discussed before....(start of every thread)
i'm sick of ATT uverse and I am switching to Cox. But I do not want to be limited with their equipment. so what is a better option for a modem and router. I have completely cut the cord. So I need something that will be good for heavy streaming. Thanks in advance!

The nighthawk, while great, is probably overkill. Archer C7 and C9 are better values, and more than adequate for the vast majority of users.

I have 100 MBps from Cox, with an SB6141 and Nighthawk. Couldn't be happier with the setup and regularly get 100+ MBps.

I have a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 and very pleased with it.
For a Modem, just get the best Motorola/Arris you can afford. eBay has the SB6183 for $79 for a one day sale. Normally it is $149 LINK

You could get the netgear ac1750, its a step down from the nighthawk, but I believe the nighthawk just has more features, its not necessarily faster.

Just setup with the Arris SURFboard SB6141 modem, and the NETGEAR AC1750 router..switched from Cox's equipment after 5 years using it and holy crap what a difference, internet is insanely fast

Tldr version:

ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 modem

NETGEAR AC1750 wifi router

You're welcome

Just ordered this one. My Linksys keeps dropping connection (common problem, based upon what I have read with the model I have):

TRENDnet TEW-827DRU (Version v1.0R)
