The firmware updates help a lot with the falses from radar based cruise and collision avoidance systems.

Without the newest updates the V1 is basically unusable due to the number of false alarms on the interstate.

They do have an upgrade program for older detectors. It certainly isn't the deal of the century but it is cheaper than a new detector so I give them credit for that.

I don't even use mine in the city because they don't run radar here. You sort of figure out how to read what is important on the highway though
