I was told by an ATT employee that they either discount your phone or discount your plan. 2 year agreement with discounted phone or monthly installments (NEXT plan) for full priced phone with a $25 per line discount on family mobile share.

Since I have 2 out of 3 phones under 2 yr agreements, I wouldn't save any money switching to a mobile share plan. I wanted to switch to the 30 GB plan then add a tablet down the road. Now I'm stuck for at least 2 yrs with the pricing I have.

You are only stuck if you signed those contracts since February of this year I think. I was still in contract for both of my phones but they let me on the data share plan.

Around June. I can get on the new plans, it will just cost me a lot more until their contracts are up. No $25 "discount".

if you have a 15gb plan currently, you can get 30gb for no additional cost if you call AT&T before oct 31

I still have my unlimited. These new plans aren't cheaper from what I see.

Yeah, that 25 dollars is essentially your way of paying off the subsidized phone they gave you
Once you do that for the 24 month contract, they'll give you the discount

I want to switch to the new plan but I'm not paying $40 for two of my lines for the next two years. I'm going to try to speak to the retention department and see if they will hook me up.

Yes. Once you hit the 5 GB mark, watching video such as YouTube, xvideos.com, etc is almost impossible. Plus I want to add a tablet some time in the near future. They are also offering the 30 GB plan for the 15 GB price. They are screwing you no matter what, just trying to get the best deal I can without having to switch providers.
