Another android question: contacts

New to Android phones. I managed to transfer my contacts from IOS,(thanks to TD:Tech) thanks guys.
Now I have up to 4 contacts for the same person. Every program I have found is 35$ and up. If that is what I need to do then fine, but is there a free version or something I am missing?

why are you people not saving all contacts to your gmail account?
doesnt matter which phone you are on or computer, log onto your gmail account the the contacts will be on your phone. Plus you can edit contacts on your computer faster, or in your case, combine all those contacts. Heck google will ask you, "Hey you have 4 contacts for the same name, combine?"

It worked. I had to dig around Gmail, b/c thats not my normal mail system. thanks for the help. and I didn't take offense. is what it

Use the Sync.Me app to merge duplicates. It will also give you their social media profile picture I think.
