Android Update Help (AT&T HTC M8)

Hey guys, having some trouble and wanna know if anyone here has some ideas
Currently have an M8 running android revolution 4.4.4 with twrp recovery and bootloader unlocked
AT&T released lollipop and i'm trying to get the OTA.
I restored my backup of the stock rom (with att bloatware) but it didn't restore stock recovery. I found a stock recovery on xda, flashed it, and downloaded the OTA. However, when it goes to install in recovery, green bar gets ~20% of the way then aborts
What am I missing to get an OTA? Is it because my bootloader is unlocked? I was under the impression that that didn't matter as long as recovery and rom are stock and unrooted. TIA

I believe so.
Just go to the XDA m8 dev board and look for the return to stock thread.
