1 - Google Pixel XL - Dad
2 - Nexus 6P - Children
1 - Apple iPhone 6 - Mom

Wife asked me to look into an application (for potential future use) that will allow her iPhone and my Pixel to monitor our activity on our children's phones, 2 x Nexus 6P.

Is there a cross-platform application that I should look into to research more thoroughly?

Do you just want to track them, or read their texts too?

Life360 to track. It's free.

Wife used to use Teensafe to read daughter's text. But it's not free and it has a 24 hour delay. Also it doesn't work with snapchat which is how kids text these days.

I am hopeful that the nude texts don't start until much later in their lives.

Do any of these apps offer a web based login so that viewing is available from a desktop or laptop?

I think so. But im not positive. I've never bothered with it. The only one i check is life360 on the weekends just to make sure she safely got to where she's going.

Life 360 has desktop access and a phone app.

Why get kids a phone if they are at the age you need to monitor them? No kid should have a cell until they start driving.

how about a divorced dad with custody of 2 pre-teens who he needs to coordinate with in after school programs while he's at work?

<-- me for several years. cellphones were invaluable but they weren't iphones, they were just cheap nokias.

eta your kids can also do 99.9% of the same things on a cellphone on an ipad, android tablet or ipod. you don't let your kids use an ipad either?

I think there are infinite reasons a kid should have a cell phone. Not sure what that guy was getting at really.

see my comment about about ANY digital device. you can do pretty much everything you can with a cellphone using a tablet, ipod, etc and access to wifi.
