Delete and reinstall apps. For example: Facebook regularly takes up 500-900MB after regular use, but if you delete and reinstall, size goes down to about 150MB. Most apps bloat after a while.

upgrade to a Surface 3 and you can have 256 Gb of memory.

.... and a Mini-Display Port for those times when you need to share on a device that doesn't have an AppleTV or Chromecast
.... and a keyboard you can take or leave
.... and a stylus you can draw with
.... and a kickstand built-in so you don't have to hold it all the time or buy a cover with a stand.

i finally got rid of my iPhone 5 yesterday (kind of had to since I dropped it and fricked up the screen) which was 16gb and was always getting messages about running out of space. I replaced it with a 64gb phone and already I'm glad I spent a little extra for the space.
if you like to take a good bit of pics/vids and on top of that listen to podcasts or download a lot of apps, you will appreciate the extra space. I feel like an iPad definitely would benefit from having more than 16gb
