Not Galaxy, but LAFC.

Zlatan's tweet oozes awesomeness:

"My last game tomorrow at Parc des Princes. I came like a king, left like a legend."

Seems like he would make Robbie Keane redundant.

Maybe they move him?

honestly idk what the rules are now

is it still 3 dps? or is it 3 dp and one super DP.

either way im fine with the league doing what ever it needs to do to get big names here, but spread the love

maybe keane does get the boot but hopefully he goes somewhere else and helps them

No big-time player wants to go to DC.

They'll all get funneled to the LA, NY, or Canadian clubs. That's where they want, and MLS won't miss out on guys like them over rules they can change on the fly.

That market is a gold mine for a marquee Hispanic player.

Sure, as is Atlanta. If DC could've landed Gio Dos Santos when he came over... man. And maybe that new stadium will help. But no one wants to play in RFK right now.

But a guy like Zlatan or Drogba or Henry (just thinking back to the big strikers) is going to go to a bigger, more international market if he can. It just makes sense.

I'm holding out hope Atlanta goes after a big-name Mexican like Chicharito. That place will be PACKED if he came on.

The thought of an ego like Zlatan in Columbus freaking Ohio is absolutely hilarious. Ohioans would literally have no idea what is happening.

To live in Los Angeles is really the only reason I could see him moving to the US.

frick that. It may help a little bit, but not that much. Getting a big name USMNT player would draw more fans than any Mexican player.

That is not true. Getting a popular El Tri player is a much, much bigger deal than a USMNT player in terms of selling tickets.

Everything I've read has shown the opposite. Or at least that Mexicans/Hispanics won't start coming to games just because of one or two players.

Keep telling yourself that

Most Americans wouldn't be bothered about their local club getting a USMNT player. Regardless if they support it or not.

Mexicans even if that club isn't their club will flock to see that player play.

When Chica went to Leverkusen their social media pages got an absurd amount of new follows that day. Like we are talking damn near a million people who follow him regardless of team.

quote:

The official news of Hernandez's transfer on Bayer Leverkusen's Twitter feed was retweeted more than 15,000 times, which was an unprecedented number of retweets for the German club.

quote:

On Facebook, the announcement got 50,000 likes that day, also a club record.Hernandez has eight million followers on social media, 5.64M alone on Twitter

quote:

That is more than double the followers of the Bundesliga's biggest club, Bayern Munich and more than double the amount of followers of the Bundesliga Twitter account in both German and English combined. Leverkusen has just 170,000 followers on Twitter.
