Fabian Johnson interview upon returning to Gladbach. Has some comments about the Gold Cup debacle.

TL;DR:
So much for an attacking style.

Was it disappointing to be knocked out?
Johnson: Yes, of course. To be knocked out by Jamaica in the semis was certainly not our plan going into the tournament. Our aim was to make it to at least the final – but when you can’t score enough goals, you can’t have any complaints. We deserved to be knocked out and we have to analyse the mistakes we made.
So much for an attacking style.

If you're going to have an "of age" abroad section, I would consider adding the MLS national team player pool as well.
I don't know what your line for inclusion would be, but I'd say maybe MLS players called up in the last year or something.
It may help newer/less knowledgeable posters understand that any player who plays outside of the US is not automatically more capable than a guy that plays here and to understand that if you're going to follow (or claim to follow) US Soccer and player development, you should probably pay attention to MLS, too.
Even if Jurgen and internet Eurosnobs feel otherwise - MLS is a big part of the puzzle/picture/equation and that's likely to become more true, not less.

I haven't included MLS players because I feel it is easier to keep track of them than the guys in Mexico or Europe. If everyone wants to add key players in the MLS, then I'll be glad to add them.

You can have an attacking style, yet still fail to score goals. We were definitely on the attack more than Jamaica was, but we just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net.

Ethan Horvath started for Molde yesterday as they drew 1-1 with Dinamo Zagreb in the first leg of their Champions League round.

We were also outshot in all of our group games. Jamaica had more shots than us in the first half, scored two goals, and then bunkered.

It's your thread.
If the point of the thread is to get people excited about and interested in American players, then including Miguel Ibarra and not Ethan Finley or Joe Corona and not Lee Nguyen is a little short sighted, IMO.
My guess is that most people, especially the less knowledgeable, just lump all of MLS together and consider it seven levels below "Europe." I'd guess that most look at somebody like Bill Hamid or Sean Johnson and assume that they're a rung below a Cody Cropper, or the guy in Norway, Horvath.

Julian Green is going to play for Bayern U-23 this season.

I wonder who he is "Just a little bit ahead of" in our pool right now.

Tommy Redding loaned to the Wilmington Hammerheads for the remainder of the season.

Yeah who knows? But the 4th division is not where he needs to be. He's still only 20 but he needs to be playing against better competition and I think chasing the Bayern dream is going to really end up hurting him.

Someone tell me about Ethan Finlay. We need wingers with the national team and I keep seeing things about this kid having a good season in Columbus. I don't watch a lot of MLS so someone tell me - is he an option on the wing for the USMNT? Should he be getting a look? Who does he remind you of?
