and bolster the roster for the CL. Back on track in a flash, they should be once again an obligatory CL participant. This is good for football.
quote:
Valencia are a steamroller that has reached such a crushing speed that it is no longer heresy to say who will win La Liga: Los Che are five points behind the leaders and four from Madrid, with the Clásico to play on Sunday. They saw off Elche, a difficult trip, and put pressure on Atlético, who host Getafe on Saturday in the fight for third place.
Elche, meanwhile, have passed through the port of Sevilla and Valencia in white but are still outside of the relegation zone. Los Che arrived at Elche in flight. They arrived with the confidence of five wins (now six) and the recent draw at the Calderón that lifted them. In the first minute Otamendi fired the first warning shot from a corner, which he fired over the bar. In the ninth minute, Lombán fired a shot wide after a good move involving Alcácer. Shortly after Valencia’s No.9 opened the scoring but the linesman raised his flag. It was a keen eye to find the offside but he was, by centimetres.
Valencia bossed the possession and the chances but Elche were standing firm. They began to get back into the game but there was little danger to Diego Alves in the Valencia goal. And at that moment, with both teams seemingly waiting for half-time, a a flash from Piatti changed the game. Another one. He crossed from the left and although Tyton tried to clear it, André Gomes stuck the ball into the back of the net. Aftere the break, Elche tried to take steps forward but instead they gave themselves it all to do. After 57 minutes, a great pass from André Gomes into the heart of the penalty are put Alcácer in to make it 0-2. A Roco own goal make it three and killed the hopes of the hosts. Otamendi headed in the fourth to the delight of the 2,000 travelling Valencia fans that had made the trip.

Valencia has a lot of very good young talent, but coaching is killing them.
If Wenger ever left, this team would be perfect for his coaching, with a few adds, they would be his perfect team.
He's always had a philosophy more similar to LaLagia style soccer.
