He was trying to chip him. Pretty good just to even get it over the keeper

Was that a pass from Morris?

Tried to drag it forward with his back foot and didn't cushion it enough. Just a poor touch.

ETA: I thought you were talking about his touch on the through ball from Mix.

I think you could describe our attack with two phrases:

"pass was a bit too far"

"touch was a bit too heavy"

Of course Lalas thought Zardes was our best player.

Did anyone else feel like we were functionally playing more of a 4-3-3? I felt like Zardes was almost playing like a RW with Nguyen pinching centrally while Mix and Bradley stayed deep. Morris and Altidore are alternating sliding out left or dropping deep (with Nguyen sliding back out to the left when they do).

Yes, I do. Nguyen has more of a free role. When they first announced the lineup I thought it had the potential for a three man midfield with Bradley behind Nguyen and Mix.

When we heard that my dad and I simultaneously gave each other a disapproving look

Kiesewetter dropped that on him perfectly, and Jozy just mistimes his header. Oof.
