Green isn't good enough yet. Morris was with the U23s or something. Wood, I dunno

i'm guessing he's hoping for bedoya-esque performances defensively to let our fullbacks play like wings offensively

have them for wide outlets in possession and cover for the FBs defensively

Why doesn't the guys like Morris l,green, wood get more playing time. Just not ready yet or what?
Morris is recovering from an injury. Green and Wood need to get their club situation worked out.

Yeah I get it but the guy has to at least pose a threat on the wings to open up space for the wingbacks.

I'm still not sold on Wood yet. He had a few good minutes against Germany and the Dutch, but he had done nothing in his previous caps and it sounds like he wasn't doing well with his club.

Morales in this formation is all too reminiscent of Danny Williams doing the same

Haha. You called in a pitch and a field in the same sentence...

Oh and another at Alexi saying that some people are confused at Jurgen's lineups. EVERYONE is confused by Jurgen's lineup choice.

Outside of Fab, I don't think we have one.

Guys, it's a diamond 4-4-2. There aren't true wingers. Width comes from the fullbacks, and the "wide" midfielders tuck in. Playing A defensive mid at those positions isn't nearly as egregious as Jurgen playing Danny Williams out wide against Italy in a 4-2-3-1.

I agree 100%. The argument then is, do we try to get a 50%-60% Jozy match fit for the knockout rounds, or do we go with someone that is healthier?

I think we get him minutes surely, but in any situation where we need goals badly, we defer to two healthy forwards. Against Haiti, for example, Jozy had a really good run that he hesitated on leading to the phantom offside call on Aron. Without the terrible offside ruling, Jozy creates a great goal with that hesitation. That'd have been huge for him, even if he gets subbed off soon after. A confident Jozy gets buckets.

I may be the only one who feels this way, but Alexi has been FAR nicer to Jurgen in his analysis. For so long, he'd do anything to take a shot at him, and recently, he's been slightly less critical and more "fair" I suppose. He still takes a few jabs, but it's nowhere near where it was for a while when he'd have blasted Jurgen's shoe choices if he thought he could get away with it.
