So a over view of the performance from my opinion. Soldado had some nice hold up play when he actually got the ball, and of course the PK. Holtby looked alrite, the goal was beautiful. Dawson looked like crap as usual and gave up the PK. Friedel is old, doubt he sees any Europa action this season. Ceballos was a pleasant suprise, nothing really special but had a few chances and good passes. Lamela was a totally different player than what we saw last year. Hopefully defense gets better before west ham match. Need some coaching on defense looked as bad as last year even tho the back line was missing some pieces.

I'll believe it once the team confirms. I'll be happy to get a quality RB but sad to see Gylfi go. At least he'll get some pitch time for the Swans. I hope he does well for them.

Walker couldn't play Saturday because he was afraid of the artificial turf! Gimme a break.
That being said, our defense definitely suffered once he went out for an extended period of time. I am not saying he is the greatest defender in the world(he isn't) but at least his speed makes teams think about his counter attacking.
So who are our back 4?
Davies, SuperJan(hopefully super anyway), Kaboul? and Walker? I don't have a lot of faith in Vlad right now. His back is ALREADY hurting him again.
That being said, our defense definitely suffered once he went out for an extended period of time. I am not saying he is the greatest defender in the world(he isn't) but at least his speed makes teams think about his counter attacking.

We'll see. Once the Davies deal is official, he'll be the starter at LB. Walker is a starting-quality RB - no doubt. He just drives me crazy with his whining.

I thought fryers looked pretty good Saturday at LB. He also seemed to have good speed.
Reality is our biggest problem was central defense. A whole lot of Dawson being too slow or kicking it straight to the other team. Which we saw a lot during the Sounders game.
