This is early, but I didn't want some Gunner to snag this thread and not address the MLS All-Stars by their rightful name.

MLS going for three in a row over Europe tonight and their fourth in five years.

quote:

Goalkeepers: David Bingham (San Jose Earthquakes), Andre Blake (Philadelphia Union)

Defenders: Steve Birnbaum (D.C. United), Laurent Ciman (Montreal Impact), Andrew Farrell (New England Revolution), Keegan Rosenberry (Philadelphia Union), Brandon Vincent (Chicago Fire), Kendall Waston (Vancouver Whitecaps)

Midfielders: Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Mauro Diaz (FC Dallas), Giovani dos Santos (LA Galaxy), Jermaine Jones (Colorado Rapids), Kaká (Orlando City), Sacha Kljestan (New York Red Bulls), Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers), Andrea Pirlo (New York City FC), Wil Trapp (Columbus Crew SC)

What is the story with Pep and the Bayern coaches refusing to shake hands?

Schweini got tackled a little too hard for a friendly and Pep flipped his shite. Plus, he's a sore loser as well.

Bayern opened their USA offices and had a ton of promotion leading up to that game...

It all disappeared in a ten-second span

Arsene Wenger is respectful and understanding.
quote:

"Americans have a big quality that they are dedicated – when they do something, they do it 100 percent," Wenger said. "I would have loved to have players coming from here because they have individual responsibility and they are committed.

"I believe that a long time in this country you had a handicap because you play only six months. Every sport lasts six months. In Europe, these players next to me [Peter Cech and Jack Wilshere] play 11 months a year since they were kids. That makes a big difference in practice time ... We had practice in the university this morning [San Jose State] and the facilities are absolutely exceptional. It’s all there, but it’s a quality of practice and practice time and that means if you want to catch up, you have to play the whole season."

Fortunately, America understands now too. MLS academies and American youth infrastructure are the last pieces of the foundation. Now you must nurture that talent and watch the benefits over the next 5-15 years. I believe it will be a revelation.

It's just going to take time. America got off to a way later start than virtually everyone else, but it's the perfect time to build with all the knowledge and technology we have now.

With the right training from the young ones all the way up, especially with the population advantage, there's no reason why the U.S.'s national teams and league can't produce in a big way down the road.

Well, exactly. We are already seeing little bits of progress with the growth of quality homegrown players and I think that will continue to grow to the point that tangible small benefits will continue to be seen over the next several years. Significant effects will take longer, which is why I estimated 15 years. Those are the players that are 5-10 years old now.

Diego Valeri and Tommy McNamara should've made the roster.

Shows how bad MLS is when 80 percent of the starting lineup are washed up euro players

I would hate to see it start a real game, but Arsenal's front 4 is pretty fun

I only count four players you could consider that, so you must really suck at math.
