yep, however, I am lucky and most of my friends like soccer, I don't invite those who aren't

I know. I guess I wrongly assumed that all my friends would just want to gather and share some beers and food while watching our country compete for a world championship. I had a couple other friends here who don't give a shite about soccer either, but they were respectful enough to quietly watch and support an American team.

This guy is a big golf fan, so I left him a message a couple hours ago saying that if he had people over on a Sunday for the final round of the Ryder Cup (which he has done before), I wouldn't announce to everyone how much golf sucks but cheer for Europe. So far, no call back, which I hope means he realizes how idiotic he is, but I doubt it.
