You really think Boca starts in 2014?

For the next qualifier, what do you think the US's best lineup is?
I was going off this question in your OP.
I'll say this though.. Gonzales needs to step up a little, otherwise an old Boca is just about even with him.

I have not been impressed with Gonzo. Sadly we don't have a lot of options. Edu was solid there for us during the Mexico friendly, though.

But basically I feel that a 4-2-3-1 fits us the best with the players we have since we don't really have any true wide men and also allows us to (IMO) utilize our mids in their best positions as well as interchange them as well.
Question what would y'all think about Will Bruin as a target man, let's say in ^^^this^^^ formation for the USMNT???

I just don't think Shea is a starter, he doesn't have the endurance for it.
Always looks like shite after about 40-50 minutes played.

@Jumbeauxlaya
Well ideally I see Shea taking his time @ Stoke to learn what it takes to be a starter and becoming that, hopefully. So let's just assume we are putting our best 11 out there and for me when he's ready Brek will qualify in that group so I put him in there ... you see what I saying.
I agree with you but really who else can be that wide man? I don't know, really that's why I ask?? All i know is that we lack wide players and true attacking mids.

Will Bruin isn't a player of "full international" quality, and I suspect he never will be.

I didn't get a chance to see this, I noticed someone else put him in their line-up so yeah its definitely a possibility.
Real question is will Brek ever live up to the hype?

Completely understandable but he's young and big ??(6'2")?? so I thought there might be a chance. Also has he ever been called up for a shot to see what he is capable of?

I think Bruin deserves some time with the Nats to see how he fits in.
GAM looked better on the wing than our CMs did, but that's still not his natural position.
I would love to see Joya get some playing time with at least the Gold Cup squad. Possibly Cuevas or Villareal as well.
And yeah, again I think Shea is best as a super sub.

I think he has potential and a lot of times you never truly develop unless you're around and competing against better talent.

I thought he looked good against Mexico. JMO

He really needs to progress more ... hopefully his time with stoke will spur on his development.

He's big, but he doesn't play as target forward (McBride or Ching). At least thus far, he strikes me as mostly a poacher.
Poachers are usually only successful at the international level if they're exceptional at it (like Miroslav Klose). Otherwise, you end up looking like Taylor Twellman.

So he's trying to be Dempsey, poacher extraordinaire

Okay I'll have to admit I haven't seen much on him just the little bit I have he impressed me. I just assumed with his size he'd be that target forward but with what you are saying that makes sense and I see why it would be hard for him. (Kinda like a worse Wondo would you say )
Question though I thought he was good in the air and had good heading qualities and ability. What say you to that statement?
Posted on 3/4/13 at 2:56 pm to McRebel42
Shea has a better left foot and is much quicker than wondo, also probably better with his feet, worse with his head and worse with movement... so In summary I guess not too close,
