Sec and men's soccer now!

Why doesn't new commissioner add two men's teams since only 4 are needed to compete for a championship ? Ky and USC already play men's soccer. Look at beach volleyball and equestrian now. Softball was added and eventually became dominant sport. Expenses could start out minimally , schollys less than Ncaa allowed, kids are from se of USA to keep recruiting budgets low , play the games doing the week and broadcast on one of 3 sec network channels, coaches could easily be picked off from rpl and npl leagues of us club and usys. Stadiums already built for the women , club model better entrenched than travel softball was in early 80s, major networks espn and fox show more games from us and Europe . If title ix is the excuse than why not have 4 women teams row and 4 play lacrosse . Inevitably good men's soccer would help women's soccer in the sec for more exposure and more women getting more money on the professional side of things!

Title IX
USC has a men's soccer team but we are the only school that doesn't have a men's cross country team in the conference.

Title IX killed soccer and wrestling in the SEC. Such a dumb rule. No women's sport is going to have the number of players that football has. Just another example of good intentions but poor execution by our government.

Its hard to justify when the demand is not there.
Even areas well known for soccer their local college teams don't have huge attendance.

How many people go to women's sporting events in general?

Equestrian is about to stop being an NCAA sport because there are so few teams.

not many
but SEC mens soccer wouldn't do much better
college soccer has pretty shite attendance.
I went to a few WVU games bc I knew some of the players.
Pretty sure I partied with Geoff Cameron before he was a star

My major point of rant is for commissioner to convince men's soccer could be viable on sec network to make league money. Also show equality with title ix for each schollys for women for only 4 teams that would play men's soccer(to start) networks see this as a global sport that can be grown in the us at a lower level

Then again i would rather just see more youth academies offered in the south.

Youth academies- is 74 enough? Costs at least 150k a year.. kids could use academy to either sign contract or go to college through sec and not have local talent go outside sec.
