Russian Premier League Question

Has anyone ever been to a game? Will be in Moscow beginning of August and am planning on going to a Cska game. Decent quality of play? I know the fans are goons so I'm pretty anxious to see what the environment is like compared to the epl games I've been to.

The Russian Premier League is the 7th rated league in Europe behind Spain, Germany, England, Italy, France, and Portugal. August 12 against Spartak will be the best game as that is a derby and both teams are usually good. Typically CSKA or Zenit win the league, at least recently. Enjoy.

Thanks. I'm going to the Anzhi game. I know they just got promoted back to the top flight so I'm interested to see what type of traveling supporters they have.

They should have a decent following, but stay with the CSKA supporters as Russian football fans in general don't like Anzhi. Anzhi comes from a region called Dagestan where the inhabitants aren't ethnic Russians. When Yuri Zhirkov signed with Anzhi a few years ago, the Moscow crowd booed him the whole time he was playing for the national team.

Great news Haha, My brothers wife and her family are all big Cska supporters so we are in the clear. And my boy Musa plays for CSKA so I'm excited about getting to watch him live.

Oh yeah. Musa is a great player.
