Heard Caplewood might have thoughts, but all others can chime in too. Didn't want good suggestions to get buried in another thread.

Also, anyone who has other tips for the city please let me know. Have three full days there including Independence Day (theirs, not ours).

1. Go on a tour of the golden circle.
2. Don't waste your money on the blue lagoon. It's cool, don't get me wrong, but not really worth the money.
3. Celebrate with the locals
4. I asked my Icelandic friend for you about the bars. She doesn't care for soccer but her boyfriend said just about any sports bar downtown will put the game on for you. Apparently they have several sports bars.
5. The penis museum. I'm not kidding. It's awesome.

Just be sure to have your Aron Bacon jersey on.

"What? At least one Icelander had to play at the World Cup."

I feel like this is a natural choice for the first SB field trip

Naturally. A in-depth discussion of the museum would be good for the stickied thread for new WC posters who want to discuss what if Chris Paul played soccer.

Rome could be a next choice as perhaps the oddest room in the Vatican museum is one in which they have saved all the penises that were removed from Roman statues by the church.

I honestly don't know the names if bars but downtown Reykjavik isn't that big so just pick out any bar that's open and it's gonna be good

Yeah it's pretty expensive, but not as expensive as someone else said (32 bucks for an irish coffee? Really?). I paid 900kr for a draft at a bar, or about 8 bucks with the current exchange rate (although I think it was a bit higher when I was there last Summer).
