Do you view the Fabregas' situation with Barca, the same way Man Utd fans viewed Ronaldo's situation with Madrid last summer?

Today, I think I switched from the "No way he's leaving, he loves this club," to "Damnit Wenger we're never going to win anything, if you keep selling our best players" camp.

Yeah all signs seem to be pointing more and more to "he's leaving".

But what I meant with the post is: real was vilified by Ferguson and the English media for their campaign for Ronaldo, do you think it's the same scenario with Fabregas because Barca aren't letting it go.

I can see wanting to play in Spain, but why not try to make one of the other clubs better? Can no one else afford him?

Where will he play? Not like they are hurting for mids, considering Iniesta barely plays now.

How many Man U fans committed suicide whenever CR9 left? Because that could be a possibility if Fab bails...haha. It does seem similar to the CR9 situation in that you know the move is inevitable, even more so with Fab, you just hope he holds on another year or two.

In all seriousness, we need to get at least 40 million pounds for him if he's sold. Then go after a playmaker like a Gourcuff (unlikely since Bordeaux doesn't seem happy we got Chamakh) or more likely an Eden Hazard or Mesut Ozil.

Spanish clubs outside of the big 2 are so far in debt it ain't even funny.

I mean we're talking the 3rd place side having to sell Villa, Silva, and maybe even Mata (their 3 best players) just to keep their heads above water.

As to where he'll play...I have no clue. The Spanish NT can't even fit him on the field as a starter. I just hope they don't get rid of Toure because then Busquets and Keita will be our only defensive Mids. I like Keita...not too fond of Busquets.

Ferguson is a little more cantankerous about that kind of thing...at this point in the situation Wenger hasn't said anything overly negative of Barca's pursuit of Fab. We did kind of steal him from them, that could be one reason...In one sense it'd be a nice bit of profit made...haha.

Here's one question I have, how are the Big 2 not in debt?

I've seen articles suggesting a Toure +cash swap(idk why they do this shite...). Toure brings experience to a young side like Arsenal.

TV contracts make up a huge bit of it. Madrid is in more debt than Barca. Once Laporta came in he cleaned up the financial status of Barca very niceley without compromising the squad.

tiger, what does Barca's midfield look like next year if this deal happens?

Yeah swap deals tend to be lame. I think Toure would be a nice addition. I would tend to think that Song would still be our first choice DM, but Toure would provide depth there and cover at CB.

Well you'd have two Xavi's on the field, except Fabregas is more adept in front of goal. The only problem is that you'd have to sacrifice one of the players that played this year...so either our DM(Keita or Busquets) or Iniesta. Frankly I'd rather get Villa than Fabregas because he can play on the left and that was our weaker side this year.

Don't get me wrong...I'll be excited if Fabregas comes, I just don't like as Slowflow put it: the galatico-esqe nature of it. Of course Fabregas was part of the cantera and Barca's first team is 75% cantera so there is no harm done to squad equilibrium.

Why can't they just take David Villa and be happy King? Tottenham and City may finally pass us this year without Fab. Granted we'll have a healthy RVP for probably 4 months and Beowulf can't score when RVP is giving him dirty looks.

I'd be happy with just Villa. I think Fabregas just adds something that we already have...in abundance.

leave villa alone. and yes, madrid is in much more debt than barca thanks to perez. it's part of the reason we'll be losing gonzalo this summer

I don't fault Fabregas for wanting to leave, but I want to make sure we are compensated in a big way. I really don't want Yaya Toure, as I feel Alex Song is better, so I'd take 50 mil.

I don't want to see him go, as we pretty much rebuilt our team to suit his strengths and weaknesses, but we have more than enough replacements in Ramsey, Wilshere, and Nasri. The problem is that there is no telling if any of those three will work out.

If push comes to shove, I'd take Gourcuff as well.

I'd feel a lot better about selling Fab for big bucks if he hadn't have gotten horrificly injured. The plan all along was to ease him along into Fab's eventual replacement.

Wilshere

Wenger's repeatedly said that his future is in the center of the pitch...he'd probably get a shot there sooner rather than later if Fab is gone.
