um Sunderland has a Europe spot on lock now. Even if city wins they will already will have a CL spot and the runner up takes the Europe spot.
Its been that way for the FA Cup so pretty sure the League Cup is the same way.

Yeah I kinda thought if City won this game and went to the CL then the 6th place team in the EPL will to the Europa League.
