I think it's a load of crap. They simply probably didn't call up enough people and didn't want to take the blame.

Exactly. I was at the game. I saw the long lines and I went back and sat down. A few seconds later someone walked by our section selling waters and beer.
"boo hoo! I can't get a funnel cake!"
Yeah, the lines sucked but I'm there to watch the game not eat a hotdog.

Hmmmmmm 100 people didn't show up. I suspect they are having labor/management issues. They knew how many concessions to have open for 40,000 people. I suspect the company they contract with to manage the concessions is at fault.

Or the concessions contractor felt they were being underpaid and asked for more money after stadium management signed an 80 bazillion dollar deal with Nissan.

Yes. Anyone who misses an entire half of a game to sit in a concession line probably should.
