I wouldn't go as far as saying all Top 10 teams in the Championship are EPL quality, and even then, most get sent right back down, soooooo...

You saying only four euro leagues are better than the mls is a absurd no way you can argue that and win

Again. You're not understanding. Seems to be a common theme on this board. When I referenced four leagues I was referring to the only four that 99% of soccer fans are familiar with. I wasn't saying only four leagues are better than MLS. When people say "European soccer", they really just mean the big 4 when in all reality that's not an accurate picture of "European soccer". Do you get it now or do I need to go more in depth?

If there are any leagues we should compare ourselves too, it's the leagues that started around the same time as the MLS. The J-League has produced some real quality technicians, but the MLS is comparable in attendance and overall team quality. Japan has just produced better individual players.

While I agree with you, when you say European you really mean four leagues. Because the majority of European leagues are much worse than MLS.

Um, I think you were. Your hole deepens by the minute.

No, bud. You can barely speak English so I don't really trust your ability to comprehend what I meant. When people speak of European soccer they aren't talking about the Danish league.

Hear, hear. The J-League is also going against a dominant sport in its country (although MLS is going against several sports), and, like you said, they have produced some top notch players. (Miss you, Shinji xoxoxoxo)

I think it's easier to scout and develop talent in a country with half of our population squeezed into the size of California.

I may be completely wrong, but I'd guess that J-League models itself much more on a continental European style/approach instead of a more English style game?

I don't watch the league but get that idea simply from the players that come from there (as well as the ones they try to get from abroad).

I mean just look at their women's team. No way do they stack up athletically with our girls, but technically they are better. We're falling behind, I fear.

Yeah, I don't know about falling behind in the sense of their NT being better than ours especially given our population and, more significantly, military diaspora.

However, it seems that we're a lot less likely than Japan to produce a world class #10.

I've always thought that it's a bit unfortunate that the English style game has influenced the US so much.

Yeah, but thought you were alluding to their men's team also having / producing a few more technically adept players.

They definitely have. We haven't produced anyone on the level of Kagawer or Honda, that's for sure.
