For all the crap he's getting, no one is mentioning that beautiful cross in stoppage time he delivered that almost tied the game.

Don't think anyone would confuse Bradley with Ronaldo.

Dude couldn't control a pass to him if his life depended on it today

a lot of players had some pretty poor first touches today for both teams.
for us:
Bradley did have some bad first touches but so did Jones and dempsey as well as others.

Bradley did have some pretty good touches, one time passes and long balls over the top.

He does a good job with the other center mids in controlling the tempo and pace of our play though

Yeah, I'm sure it had to do with the slow/drenched field but Germany did have some awful touches near the box and were generally not all that impressive in the attacking third.

Their ideas and ball movement were good but the final touch, pass, moment of inspiration really not there at all.

The US made some good defensive plays throughout but I can't think of single German player that didn't fluff a couple of touches in a promising buildup equal to the one Bradley's getting drilled over.

definitely agree.

We have got to look sharper moving forward especially in that final third of the field.

I noticed several times Mesut Özil's reluctance to try anything remotely quick or creative when he received the ball in and around the box. You know the water is an issue, when the player with the smoothest touch in the world is hesitating with his passes and dribbles.

I think even Jogi Löw recognized the problem with the standing water and his usually fluid front 3 by substituting a much more direct Klose on early in the second half.

They decided to cross more, instead of working the ball into the box.

I even noticed players requesting a new ball on every single throw-in, even when the original ball was at their feet.

Good point . . . Poldoski instead of Goetze starting as well.

If we had better options on the roster to exploit their lack of speed in the back from the start of the match, I think we could have stolen this game with a lucky break by playing even more golden days English style punt and run.

Or at least annoyed them to the point they lost some concentration.

The English punt and run would have been perfect if we had Jozy. He really does hold the ball up well for us.

The whole game was sloppy and rather unimpressive, other than a couple passages of play like Mueller's goal, that one Bradley pass to Jones that was nice and maybe some others.

Agreed. Having Dempsey isolated there wasn't going to provide much threat.

Pushing Jones forward a few times was a good idea in a pinch to give Germany something to think about at the very least but it's not that he could be much of a consistent threat since he was scrambling to defend.
