Fair enough, but it does help England's coefficient, especially the extra points from City getting to the semis in UCL. I agree that Italy overtaking England won't happen in 2017 barring something crazy. Who knows considering England's UCL lineup would on paper be weaker than normal.

It should be a good final. Both teams will press and attack. Expect like a 3-2 scoreline.

Real wasn't exactly inspiring in a lot of that tie. And Atlético can sit back. A lot. I know the stakes are a lot higher, and the quality of the players is higher, but as far as the game goes I worry Real-Atlético could be a snoozer. Hope I'm wrong.

Sevilla plays last league game on Saturday the 14th. Liverpool on Sunday the 15th. Final is on Wednesday the 18th.

Yeah, I don't get that at all... CL final is a Saturday, why not do EL the day after (seeing as that's the format all year anyways)

Then reverse it? Saturday/Sunday EL then CL? I think just as many people would watch on Sunday as a Saturday

Champions league for many many years had the final mid week as well. Once it was moved to Saturday even then it wasn't moved to a later time slot at first. Europa league final is mid week and earlier on b/c some leagues are just wrapped and you have domestic cup finals on weekends to still be played. It's a second tier competition when it comes down to it, so example the FA Cup copa del rey which Sevilla is playing this year is a few days after the Europa final. So you can't have a team going to multiple trophies playing two cup finals the same day.
UEFA isn't going to have anything else compete with its showcase final that weekend.
