I really feel for him. He had started out the season so strong. I feel our fullbacks have been the strongest part of our squad thus far this year. Blind can slot in adequately, but, while he can be efficient as a LB, he lacks some of the pace, strength, and attacking ability of Shaw.

The gifs/videos of the break look absolutely horrible. Wish him the speediest of recoveries.

That injury is definitely in the Ramsey, Diaby, Eduardo, Zakuani, Ben Arfa class.

I immediately thought of Ramsey. I really feel for Shaw. He worked hard to drop weight and lock down his place on the pitch. I hope he recovers quickly. I can't imagine that sort of injury as a footballer. Hopefully, he doesn't pull a Gundogan and gain 30 pounds all in his gut (which is a pretty dick thing to say about someone with a back injury).

He's out at least 6 months per reports, looking back at replay that could have been easily a pk and a red due to the fact the challenge was completely reckless and he just nicked the ball.

PSV confirming on Spanish TV that Memphis Depay was sold for £19m/€27m not the £27m the English had claimed. Great business

United issue Luke Shaw statement

Luke Shaw underwent surgery on his injury on Tuesday night and will remain in hospital in Eindhoven to continue his early recovery.

Manchester United are grateful for the excellent care he is receiving and would like to thank everyone who has sent messages of support.

A further update will be provided in due course.

Will. Not. Watch.

Speedy/Successful recovery for him ala Ramsey. Hate when young talented players get f-ed like that. Even for the Mancs.

Sorry fellas. That was gruesome.

Was not speedy. The mental scars take longer to get over than the physical ones.

That is why I put /.

He's a good example of coming back and becoming even better. Most are never the same player again.

Wishing the opposite for Shaw.

It took three years for him to break back into the team and nearly 100 games. He was on the verge of grabbing a spot next to Cesc as a 19 year old when the injury happened. Hopefully Man U will be as patient with Shaw.

So, RIP luke shaw's leg. dude was playing amazing so far this season too. hopefully he focuses up on his rehab and comes back after christmas.

as far as defending options go we actually have a shite ton of options we can take.

rojo can slot in at left back. he can slot in at CB and blind can head out to the left. darmian can play on both sides so left is an option for him and valencia on the right or phil jones when he comes back. phil jones can slot in as CB and smalling can head out right.

i know we said we needed a new CB and I still think we do but LvG has left us with plenty of options back there and hopefully we won't miss a beat. Luke's speed and ability to get forward are definitely going to be missed though.

I thought the chemistry between shaw and memphis was good, and was going to be great towards the end of the season. I really like watching those two play off each other.

Looks like we are keeping Ha-mes.

Manchester United are now unwilling to let striker James Wilson leave on loan, according to Wolves boss Kenny Jackett. Wilson, 19, was set for a temporary switch to a Championship side, with at least six clubs interested. But Jackett said: "The information is he's not available. Manchester United are keeping him for the time being.
